Symantec report: The Netherlands #2 spam country

Only yesterday in my report on the Signal Spam meeting I wrote that The Netherlands had disappeared from the spam top 10 since 2004. Today I was sent a link to the new Symantec monthly report in which The Netherlands have risen to spot #2, with 6% of total spam volume. More that Russia, Brasil and several other EU countries that traditionally score top 10. So what happened? As Symantec gives no explanation, I don’t know.

What I do know is. Sophos did not have The Netherlands rated in the last quarter of 2010. There may be several explanations, but at this moment I can only come up with guesses. It might be a good idea if OPTA got into contact with Symantec to receive information and data. There’s work to be done.
